Built around what happens after surgery.
The Two Hemispheres Foundation was created to help reduce the financial strain that can follow brain surgery and make recovery even harder for patients and families.
A need seen firsthand.
The Foundation was inspired by a family’s experience with brain tumor surgery and the difficult recovery that followed. The operation was only one part of the process. Recovery required ongoing assistance, caregiving, and support that created a significant financial burden.
That experience made one gap especially clear: medical care may continue after discharge, but the resources available to a family do not always match the realities of recovery at home.
The Two Hemispheres Foundation is being built to help bridge that gap.
Mission
To provide financial assistance to individuals experiencing financial hardship during recovery from brain surgery or a qualifying cranial neurosurgical procedure, helping patients and their families access the care, services, and resources necessary for recovery.
Vision
A future in which financial hardship does not prevent a person recovering from brain surgery from obtaining the care and support necessary to recover with dignity.
Founding principle
Brain surgery should not leave patients and their families to choose between financial security and the care necessary for recovery.
Focused, fair, and responsible.
Compassion
Applicants are treated with dignity, empathy, and respect during a difficult period.
Fairness
Assistance is based on established eligibility criteria rather than personal relationships or influence.
Financial responsibility
Charitable funds are stewarded carefully and directed toward legitimate charitable needs.
Accessibility
We aim to make the assistance process understandable for patients and caregivers.
Transparency
Appropriate records and clear policies guide how funds are administered.
Patient & family focus
We recognize that recovery affects both the patient and the people supporting them.
